What is a mini pig anyway?

Big personality in a (not so) little package

A mini pig is any breed of pig that weighs under 350 pounds. Breeds that are sold as ‘mini pigs’ are Kunekune, Juliana and Pot Belly. Although, buying a pig that is labeled as a ‘mini pig’ does not mean the pig will stay small forever.

Words such as “micro” and “teacup” are very misleading and no breeder can guarantee you that the pig will stay tiny forever. Many breeders underfeed their pigs, creating a malnourished pig to make a smaller looking pig to please buyers. This causes various health issues for the pig, some of which can be fatal.
